Its 74 year-strong relationship with women, their skin and make-up makes International Women’s Day an important date in Estée Lauder’s diary. To celebrate this year, the brand has partnered for a second time with streetwear brand Kith, to create a collection of make-up products that, rather aptly, is inspired by the bonds between women.
The collection, housed in a Kith-branded perspex box (designed to be used as a clutch), was curated by the two brands with a view to embracing the traits, skills and advice that get passed down from generation to generation, from one woman to the next. Of course, one of Estée herself’s own legacies is red lipstick, a one-product beauty revolution that remains as classic now as it was back when it first became a “thing”. Red lipstick never ceases to be empowering and confidence-boosting, so when better to wear it than on a day that celebrates women?
To celebrate the new collaboration Estée Lauder has launched a new Pure Color Envy Lipstick named Kith Red, which is as timeless and uniformly-flattering as one might expect. Housed in gold packaging, the lipstick also comes in an old-school mirrored case, too.
And it doesn’t stop there. The collection contains some of Lauder’s bestselling products from the Double Wear line: there is a lustworthy gold, Kith-embossed Double Wear Stay-In-Place Matte Powder Foundation (excellent for oily skin types), a Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lip Pencil in clear (works under every shade of lipstick) and a Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara (a quick ticket to long, voluminous lashes), all in packaging worth taking photos of.
The 2020 Kith x Estée Lauder collection, £150, launches in March 2020 and is available at Selfridges and Kith.com.
